Certified Health Coach and Natural Foods Chef
Welcome! My name is Jennifer White Bravo. I am a Certified Health Coach and Natural Foods Chef living and working in Portland, Maine.
I’ve been passionate about food since I was a little girl -think tabbing every page in a newly acquired cookbook while my friends were reading Roald Dahl. But, as I continued to educate myself about the culinary arts, I became exposed to the health epidemic that our country, and our world, faces today. As my concerns grew, I branched out to learn more about how I could help foster a healthier nation. I stumbled upon the natural foods world, and with that serendipitous moment, my passion to eradicate our crisis through natural, healthy foods grew too!
- I hold a B.B.A. in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago, where I studied marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, accounting, and operations.
- I am a trained Natural Foods Chef through The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts- the nation’s premier health foods culinary school.
- I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition- the world’s largest nutrition school- and a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary and lifestyle theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
I believe that no one diet works for everyone. I guide my clients to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support each individual. I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole. My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
