Cima Pillsbury, ND, LAc is a licensed, board-certified naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist. In 2008 she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She received her undergraduate degree in government from St. Lawrence University.
Dr. Pillsbury is trained in primary care and is an expert in preventive healthcare and natural treatment of disease. She practiced as a primary care provider and acupuncturist in South Central Alaska from 2009 to 2021. From 2012 to 2021 she owned Natural Family Health, Inc. where she and her team cared for over 600 people. In 2021 she joined the Integrative Health Center of Maine, located in the Greater Portland area. She offers an evidence-based integrative medicine approach to practice. Her style emphasizes stimulating vitalism, the body’s ability to heal. She works with patients to restore balance by using nutrition, therapeutic exercise, mind-body medicine, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, counseling, and botanical and nutritional substances. Dr. Pillsbury has specialized clinical training/experience in women’s healthcare, including reproductive medicine, epigenetics, pediatrics and in the treatment of pain.
Dr. Pillsbury grew up in New Hampshire and returned to New England to offer comprehensive patient care services. She values the importance of creating a good foundation for health, the intricacies of investigating health problems and the importance of alternatives to restore health. She enjoys solving complex cases for individuals who have often been seen by multiple providers and specialty clinics without achieving a diagnosis or actionable treatment plan.
In her free time Dr. Pillsbury can be found outdoors running, hiking and skiing. Indoors she loves to cook and spend time with friends and family. She looks forward to remembering how to sail now that she is back in New England.
